Welcome to the USS Talleyrand, an Ambassador Class vessel assigned to Obsidian Fleet's Task Force 72.

The year is 2387. The Dominion war is fading into memory, and the Federation is working to rebuild its peaceful mission of exploration and discovery. The USS Talleyrand, an out-dated vessel with a distinguished record, has been set aside as a training vessel for cadets entering Task Force 72. Through their tour(s) aboard the Talleyrand, cadets gain experience in shipboard operations and are prepared to take positions in other ships in the fleet. (Out of game note: The Talleyrand only roleplays as a training vessel; it does not offer official Obsidian Fleet training. It is open to rookie and veteran players alike.)

The ship's namesake, Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand, was an accomplished French statesman of the eighteenth century. He overcame adversity and rose to be an influential figure in French politics at the time. He was involved in drafting the "Declaration of the Rights of Man" and was very much occupied with the international agreements of his day.
